IWSB E-Cell – Already a Leader

This week we received a mail from the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) stating that IWSB’s entrepreneurship cell has been accorded the status of a mature E-cell and as a Lead Mentor to other E-cells in the country.

Considering that this is only the first year of our operation as a B-school, and that there are only five premier institutes in India that share this honour with IWSB, including IIM Calcutta, IIT Bombay, BITS Pilani and IIT Delhi amongst others, we treat this as no mean feat. This honour is indeed an acknowledgement of the leadership skills of our students.

IWSB is in the midst of conducting a unique event called Srijan’09. While in many ways it is very similar to a typical business plan contest, it is also fundamentally different from all the others. Srijan’09 goes way beyond just felicitating the winners – it actually identifies potentially good plans to incubate and provide them with all facilities and resources to turn them into successful ventures. Although there are no benchmarks available in India of such endeavours by any B-school, we would like to incubate half a dozen start-up businesses by next year.

Interestingly, incubating such businesses can also enable our PGP students to get hands-on learning experience while doing their Programme at IWSB – something that classroom teaching alone cannot provide.

Do not miss out the opportunity of joining the exciting and vibrant IWSB community. We accept CAT/XAT scores. You can apply by downloading the application form from www.iwsb.in.

Who knows? You may be running your own business in two years.
